TJN’s Next Meet the Experts to Cover Security Regulation Changes

After the huge success of June’s Meet the Experts launch event, The Joinery Network (TJN) has confirmed Jon Cole, Chief Operating Officer at Police Crime Prevention Initiatives – Secured by Design (SBD), as the expert speaker for the next edition of The Joinery Hour, taking place on Friday 18 July at 8am.

With major changes to PAS 24 and Building Regulations Part Q on the horizon, this session comes at a crucial time for the industry. Jon will provide expert insight into what these updates mean for timber window and door manufacturers, and how businesses can ensure full compliance moving forward.

“These upcoming changes to security regulations are set to impact product compliance across the board,” said Luke Piper, Director at TJN. “If you’re in the timber sector, this session will give you the information you need – straight from one of the top Authorities in the UK.”

Key topics will include:

  • What’s changing in PAS 24 – and why manufacturers must act now
  • Updates to Part Q of the Building Regulations and their implications for timber products
  • Compliance challenges and certification requirements for the timber sector
  • How the long-standing partnership between SBD and TJN supports members
  • This session is free and open to all – including TJN members and anyone across the timber supply chain – and will include live Q&A with Jon Cole.

Looking ahead to August, TJN is also pleased to announce that Simon Jarman from Clever Bean Accounting is confirmed as the expert speaker for the 15 August edition of The Joinery Hour. Simon will share financial insights tailored specifically to the joinery sector, covering cost control, cash flow, and smarter business planning.

The Meet the Experts series launched on 20 June with a record-breaking opening session featuring Ben Wallace and Lauren Mawford from the Glass and Glazing Federation (GGF). That event marked a major milestone in TJN’s growing reputation for driving industry collaboration, innovation, and knowledge-sharing.
