Lighthouse – The Construction Charity
The Lighthouse Charity has been looking after the construction community since 1956. It all started when a group of colleagues, standing by St Mary’s Lighthouse in Whitley Bay, decided to create something that would bring the industry together and support the people within it. That moment sparked the beginning of the Lighthouse Club, which has since grown and evolved into the Lighthouse Charity we know today.
Today, the charity offers 24/7 all‑round support for anyone dealing with emotional, physical or financial worries. Whether it’s through their free and confidential helpline, live web chat, or text service, there’s always someone ready to listen and offer guidance. They’ve also created a self‑support app and built a network of Lighthouse Beacons—local places where people can drop in, talk openly and get the help they need.
Their Wellbeing Academy adds even more support by offering a range of free soft‑skills and leadership courses. With training available across different platforms, there’s something for every learning style and every stage of someone’s personal or professional journey.”
