Simpson Strong-Tie Raises £5,352 During “Making It Matter” Month

Simpson Strong-Tie UK & IRE has spent August “Making It Matter” for MIND, raising funds and awareness through a variety of engaging activities.

The “Making It Matter” month featured a custom designed t-shirt to remind people they matter. The company also organised a charity football match, a mini sports day with classic races such as egg & spoon, and onsite activities including a pop-up tuck shop and a raffle with prizes donated by team members and suppliers.

A unique highlight was said to be the creation of custom stocks by its EU Testing Laboratory, with plans to reuse the setup in future events.

The chosen charity, MIND, was selected in memory of Matt Juxon, who sadly passed away in January 2025 at the age of 32 due to suicide. Matt was the stepson of Nicki Juxon, a Production Team Leader at Simpson. The company chose this cause to honour Matt and to support mental health initiatives close to the team. All funds raised have gone directly to MIND to help prevent future losses.

This initiative reflects Simpson Strong-Tie founder Barclay Simpson’s company values: #5EverybodyMatters, #8GiveBack, and #9HaveFunBeHumble, which guide the company’s culture and team engagement.

Thanks to the generosity of its customers, suppliers, and colleagues, Simpson Strong-Tie UK & IRE raised £5,352 for MIND, contributing to vital mental health services across the UK and honour Matt’s memory.

The company wanted to give a special thanks to its partners and supporters: Metro Fixings, Harlow Timber Systems, Embello, OnePlace Solutions Ltd, AT Services, MetalSupply Company, CSL Group, The Box Factory, N&R Manufacturing, Concept, Norlec, Office Vision, The Beauty Hub, and Bannatyne’s.
