PWE successfully debuts alongside InstallerSHOW at NEC

The Professional Woodworking Expo (PWE), InstallerSHOW, the Painting & Decorating Show (PDS), and the World Plumbing Conference ran side by side at the NEC Birmingham from 23-25 June 2026, which show organisers said created a major new meeting point for the trades that finish, fit out and service the built environment.

For the Professional Woodworking Expo and Painting & Decorating Show, the move reportedly marked a powerful first chapter: retaining the focus and identity of two established specialist events while opening them up to a wider trade audience and a broader range of connected sectors.

The Painting & Decorating Show welcomed 5,789 visitors and 85+ exhibitors, while Professional Woodworking Expo attracted 3,916 visitors and 95+ exhibitors.

Together with InstallerSHOW’s record-breaking 38,523 visitors, the co-located events created one of the UK’s most comprehensive trade gatherings.

Professional Woodworking Expo put machinery, tools and installation systems through their paces across three dedicated Demo Zones.

Seminars brought together manufacturing leaders, technical experts and sustainability specialists on topics from CNC automation to certified timber and digital workflows.

David Ventris-Field, Event Director said: “PDS and PWE felt right at home alongside InstallerSHOW. Painters and decorators, joiners, carpenters, installers and the wider trade all share the same spaces, challenges and customers, so bringing them together made real sense.

“Plus, the energy on the show floor showed there is real appetite for this approach, and we’re excited to build on it for 2027.”

The Professional Woodworking Expo and Painting & Decorating Show will return to the NEC Birmingham from 22-24 June 2027, once again alongside InstallerSHOW.
