NFU Mutual at InstallerSHOW: Highlights from the Event

Following on from Automechanika earlier in the month, NFU Mutual attended and hosted at its second commercial show – the InstallerSHOW at the NEC in Birmingham.

The show – the UK’s number one installation and specification event – gave NFU Mutual the opportunity to raise brand awareness among key target audiences, prompt conversations with experts on the stand, and generate good quality leads.

Engagement at the stand was strong throughout – helped in part by an interactive driving game, which utilised a van instead of a car to have more resonance with the audience. Visitors enjoyed the challenge of the game while then engaging in important conversations around insurance and the trades industry, speaking to a range of different people from different backgrounds.

Away from the stand, NFU Mutual were also able to go and see some of the important work going on elsewhere at the show over the course of the three days, with the team immersing themselves in how other areas of the industry work.

Tool theft is a major issue that impacts not only NFU Mutual members, but also the wider industry, and is extremely damaging to tradespeople’s lives and livelihoods. NFU Mutual campaigns on the issue of tool theft and, on day one of the show, attended a talk from Robert Jenrick MP, alongside officers from the Metropolitan Police, around tool theft and the ongoing problem it is causing.

Officers spoke passionately about trying to reduce the crime and steps they are taking – including targeting car boots that are selling stolen goods – while Robert Jenrick addressed the issue from a wider perspective and what is being done to try and prevent it, which was an insightful and interesting view from the front-line.

“The team were great and welcoming,” said one NFU Mutual Agent. “Conversations were good and people really receptible – the experience was great.”
