To combat lead time issues on PVCu, there’s never been a better time for installers to look at adding timber to their range, and The Joinery Network’s new Lignum suite of timber windows & doors could be the golden ticket for more profit in 2021.

The Joinery Network, the co-operative set up to support joinery manufacturers and improve quality in the timber industry through genuine certification, has launched Lignum – the UK’s first timber window and door system that fully complies with Building Regulations.

The Lignum range by The Joinery Network is the first complete UK timber window & door system with full PAS 24:2016, Document Q, BS 6375: 1, Document L1B, and Document M certification, available exclusively to joinery manufacturers.

“Timber windows and doors have become one of the fastest growing home improvement and construction products post-lockdown,” says Owen Dare, one of the Founder Directors of The Joinery Network.

“Windows are no longer a distress purchase – instead, homeowners choose to improve their homes with new windows that add style and character and meet demands for more sustainable products. Timber is the ideal choice for this, and we believe Lignum by The Joinery Network is the golden ticket for glazing installers.”

Fully accredited and designed for UK homes, the Lignum range includes flush casement, box sash and spring balance vertical sliding windows, along with French, single, entrance and bifold doors.

Owen adds: “The Joinery Network was formed to deliver safe and legal PAS 24:2016 certification for timber windows and doors, creating more opportunities for joinery manufacturers.”

Window & door manufacturers can choose the products they need, get licences for each product against each test result, and cascade the data to use as their own.

The Joinery Network is exhibiting at the 2021 virtual Homebuilding and Renovating Show.

The co-operative of industry experts backing timber window and door manufacturers, will be launching the new Lignum timber window and door system to homeowners, promoting the benefits of choosing timber for self-build, refurbishment and renovation projects.

Andy Ball, Founder Director at The Joinery Network and Managing Director of Balls2 Marketing, says: “We’re really excited to be a part of the virtual Homebuilding and Renovating Show. It’s a great way to meet people looking for home improvements and while it won’t be face to face this year, we are hoping to get some good conversations with homeowners looking at choosing timber windows and doors.

“There’s always been an interest for real timber windows. However, many homeowners can only get their hands on timber-replica PVCu windows. Concerns about climate change are causing consumers to make more ethical buying choices, and there’s a growing desire for sustainable products. That’s why we created Lignum – a direct response to the need for easily accessible, certified timber windows in the UK.

“We’re looking forward to speaking directly with homeowners to let them know about our network of certified joinery manufacturers who can offer PAS 24:2016, weather tested timber windows and doors through our licences.”

The Lignum range includes fully tested and accredited flush casement, box sash and spring balance vertical sliding windows, along with French, single, entrance and bifold doors.

The 2021 Homebuilding and Renovating will be taking place online from 16-17 January 2021 and visitors to the show can register here: https://homebuildingshowwinter.vfairs.com/en/registration

As the growth of The Joinery Network continues, a new website has been launched to support UK joinery manufacturers looking to manufacture PAS 24:2016 Document Q ready timber windows and doors.

The new website has information on The Joinery Network’s range of fully tested, accredited timber windows and doors, Lignum, and is live at www.thejoinerynetwork.co.uk.

Owen Dare of O T Dare Joinery Consultants, and one of the founder directors of The Joinery Network, says: “We launched the new website to make it easy for joinery manufacturers to see the range of fully tested timber windows and doors that are available, exclusively, for them.

“There is also lots of information on which tests our product range has passed. With this information, joinery manufacturers can choose the products they need, get licences for each product against each test result, and cascade the data to use as their own. This transparency means that both big and small joiners, offering a full or selective range, can fully comply with regulations without worrying about falling foul of the law.”

The new website comes after the launch of the exclusive Lignum range from The Joinery Network. Lignum is the first complete UK timber window & door system with full PAS 24:2016, Document Q, BS 6375: 1. Document L1B, and Document M certification, available to joinery manufacturers.

Owen continues: “Lignum is the exciting new window system for the timber window and door industry. Fully accredited and designed for UK homes, Lignum is perfect for joiners as a low-cost entry system through The Joinery Network licences.

“They also don’t have the expense of spending upwards of £60,000 on testing products themselves as The Joinery Network has already made that investment. It’s an easy way for joiners to show that their products comply with Building Regulations and win more sales.”

Joinery manufacturers can also find information on each of The Joinery Network’s founder partners and affiliates.

“We’ve carefully selected our founder partners and affiliates to offer expertise through every step of the supply chain. Many of them offer exclusive benefits to The Joinery Network licence holders, which we’ve featured on www.thejoinerynetwork.co.uk,” adds Owen.
