Mann McGowan launches Pyroglaze Compression

As the UK fire door industry counts down to 2029 and the removal of BS 476-22 for fire performance of doors, Mann McGowan has launched Pyroglaze Compression, a compressible graphite intumescent seal suitable for use in glazed apertures that has been proven to meet and exceed the more onerous EN1634-1 standards.

Available for both thirty and sixty minute applications, Pyroglaze Compression offers up to 2mm compression per side of glass, allowing accommodation of tolerances between door, bead and thickness of glass.

In the event of fire, the intumescent swells to provide an effective seal within the glazing pocket and reduces the risk of premature ignition of the glazing beads on the protected face.

The new product has been tested and developed in conjunction with Pyroguard, a partner in the Saverto group of passive fire protection companies, and sits within the family of Pyroglaze glazing seals and tapes, which offers protection from 30 up to 120 minutes.

Features and benefits include:

  • Simple dry glazing system, easy to cut and apply with no cleaning down after installation.
  • 30 and 60 minute protection for glazed apertures.
  • Tested to EN1634-1 in conjunction with a wide variety of EW and EI glasses
  • Suitable for use with EW and EI – Integrity and Radiation – fire rated glass.
  • Certifire approved (Pyroguard CF5818)
