MAFS releases post-event report

The Materials & Finishes Show (MAFS) has released its post-show report.

In the report, which you can view here, it said there were 6027 attendees in total, meaning there was a pre-registration to attendance conversion rate of 55%.

Visitors had 161 brands to choose from on the show floor, with running machinery displayed alongside the latest materials, components, software, tools, fixtures, finishing products and innovations.

Materials & Finishes Show 2024 marked the first time that the UK furniture manufacturing and joinery industries had come together under one roof  since 2018.

A key highlight for the show attendees was the Live Demo Zone, with running machinery and demonstrations from brands including AMS, Leitz Tooling, The Joinery Network, Lamello, Grecon, Trend Tool Technology and Rubio Monocoat.

The CPD learning programme also delivered over 20 hours of CPD certified seminars and panels from 26 speakers, including industry leaders such as Tibby Singh and the Joinery Network’s Owen Dare.

Also noted in the report was that a quarter of the attendees came from London and the South East, with those from the West Midlands coming in second place with 21% of attendees from that area.

Ben Mitchell, Marketing Manager of Leitz Tooling, said in the report: “After so long without a dedicated event to the industry, The Materials & Finishes Show exceeded all expectations and we really enjoyed connecting with attendees.

“It was great to see a combination of career woodworkers and apprentices / students in attendance. The demo zone was a great opportunity for the crowd to get engaged and ask questions.”
