Joinery Hour: Meet the Experts with GGF and TJN

Tune in to The Joinery Hour for an in-depth spotlight on timber windows and doors, featuring the Glass and Glazing Federation (GGF) and The Joinery Network (TJN).

Following their strategic partnership announcement at the FIT Show, GGF and TJN are coming together to highlight the importance of timber windows and doors in the first Joinery Hour of the new series, taking place on 20 June 2025 at 8:00 AM.

The Joinery Hour is a virtual gathering space for TJN members and businesses interested in joining the network.

Andy Ball, Sales and Marketing Director at TJN, said: “On 20 June, we’re kicking off a brand-new season of monthly sessions called Meet the Experts, and what could be more exciting than starting with not just one, but two special guests – Ben Wallace and Lauren Mawford, both from GGF.

“Ben and Lauren will be on hand to discuss what’s happening in the timber sector and how we’re collaborating to support the timber window and door industry.

“The timing is spot on. Interest in timber has increased massively over the past few years. With GGF establishing a dedicated timber group, this builds on the momentum we’re already seeing.

“Timber windows and doors aren’t just for hard-to-treat properties anymore. We’re seeing growing demand from homeowners looking to restore timber in period properties, and many are choosing timber for new builds and extensions due to its sustainability and aesthetic appeal.

“Demand for timber is definitely on the rise, and both installation and manufacturing companies moving into timber can expect the same support and benefits enjoyed by other GGF members.”

Andy added: “This promises to be an exciting session, and it will include a Q&A segment for attendees.”

UAP says firemongery “should be treated seriously”

Elliott Dawson, National Accounts Manager at UAP, explains why firemongery is more than a finishing touch. With scrutiny and regulations tightening, he argues that specification, installation and maintenance need to be treated as seriously as the doors themselves because firemongery is frontline safety.
