Elmbridge UK Donates £1500 to Great Western Air Ambulance

Elmbridge UK recently visited the Great Western Air Ambulance (GWAA) base in Almondsbury near Bristol, to present a £1500 donation, funds raised during their Open Day in October.

Partnering with The Joinery Network, Elmbridge UK hosted an Open Day where attendees contributed with a £10 registration fee, with all proceeds going to the GWAA. The Open Day raised £320, and to further support the cause Elmbridge made a further contribution to take the final figure to £1,500.

Elmbridge UK Director Barrie Freeman, and Marketing Manager Andrew Hearn, were invited to one of the GWAA bases at Almondsbury by Joe Hughes, Senior Partnerships Manager for an inside look at what they do and discuss further fundraising opportunities.

Joe explained that the GWAA needs over £10 million annually to operate and relies entirely on charitable donations. Each emergency mission involves a crew that includes a pilot, a specialist paramedic in critical care, (SPCC) and a critical care doctor, ensuring patients receive the highest level of treatment.

During the visit, they witnessed first-hand just how vital GWAA’s service is. As they arrived, the air ambulance landed, took off again within minutes and returned just as they were leaving over an hour later.

Reflecting on the experience Barrie commented, “It was great to see the Great Western Air Ambulance in action. Our thanks go to Joe for hosting and explaining the great work this important charity does for the community.”

Elmbridge is proud to have chosen the Great Western Air Ambulance as its nominated charity for 2025 and looks forward to working with them to raise much-needed funds.

UAP says firemongery “should be treated seriously”
