A year of fundraising

A year of fundraising

It has been a remarkable year for Modern Joinery’s sister publication, People in Glazing Society aka PiGs, and its charity partner of the year, Kelly’s Heroes.

When PiGs STY Master and Modern Joinery Founder Sarah Ball completed the European Leg of the Loneliest Road Cycle Ride in 2022 supporting Kelly’s Heroes, she knew that she wanted to continue her support for them.

The Joinery Network’s Founder Partner Andy Ball, Sarah’s husband and business partner, was part of the support team and together they wanted to do something they could both take part in.

Alongside other fundraisers throughout the year, Sarah and Andy were joined by 14 others team members in scaling to the summit of the highest mountain in Africa, Mount Kilimanjaro.

The team raised a huge amount for Kelly’s Heroes, alongside two other charities close to two of the climbers’ hearts in Harry’s Pals and Severn Hospice.

Altogether, over £100,000 was raised for the three charities, with more than £87,000 going to Kelly’s Heroes.

There is one final chance to donate to the Kelly’s Heroes Climb Kilimanjaro team before the JustGiving page closes.

Sarah said: “Climbing Kilimanjaro was a true bucket list challenge and incredible to get so much support from the industry from both climbers and businesses donating so generously. I can’t say thank you enough to everyone involved.

“It was a real privilege to be part of such an amazing team and that we raised so much money for Kelly’s Heroes.”
