Women in Fenestration Network launches Allies initiative

Women in Fenestration Network (WFN) has officially launched WFN Allies, inviting men from across the fenestration industry to get involved in supporting the network and its activities.

The initiative was unveiled by WFN Co-Founder, Sioned Yates, at the Glazing Summit on 8 October 2026, following growing interest from men across the industry who have been supporting WFN since its launch earlier this year.

The idea for WFN Allies developed following the network’s first Professional Development Day in June, which brought together more than 75 women from across the sector.

While the event was exclusively for women, many of its strongest supporters were men who encouraged colleagues to attend, helped promote the event and subsequently asked how they could become more involved.

Sioned explained: “One of the things that really struck me following our Professional Development Day was the number of men who came forward and asked how they could help.

“We’ve already got some fantastic men across this industry who mentor people, share their knowledge and encourage their colleagues. WFN Allies is about inviting them to bring some of that experience and support into the network.

“Whether that’s mentoring someone through WFN, sharing their experience at an event or encouraging women within their businesses to take part, there are lots of ways people can get involved.”

WFN Allies will provide opportunities for men to contribute to the network’s mentoring, professional development and industry events, helping WFN build on its existing activities and reach more women across the sector.

Sarah Ball, Co-Founder of WFN, added: “We’ve been really encouraged by the support WFN has received since we launched. It’s great to see so many people recognising the value of what we’re doing and wanting to be part of it.

“WFN Allies is another step forward for the network and we’re looking forward to welcoming more people who want to contribute.”

Founded earlier this year, WFN brings together women working across all areas of the fenestration industry. Its programme includes mentoring, Lunch & Learns, Industry Inside events, podcasts and professional development opportunities.

Men interested in becoming a WFN Ally can register their interest by emailing Sioned and Sarah on hello@womeninfenestration.co.uk.
