BWF Awards 2025 Shortlist Announced

The shortlist for the 2025 British Woodworking Federation (BWF) Awards has been revealed.

Celebrating the very best of the woodworking and joinery manufacturing industry, the BWF Awards are said to highlight the skill, creativity and dedication that the sector has to offer.

A record number of entries

Helen Hewitt, Chief Executive of the BWF, commented: “As the BWF Awards enter their seventeenth year, it’s exciting to see the Awards continuing to grow – with this year marking a record number of entries across all categories. The quality of entries this year demonstrates not only the skill and dedication within our profession, but also the vital role our sector plays in delivering high-quality, sustainable solutions for the built environment.

“From advances in health and safety culture and investment in the next generation, to new approaches to showrooms and the showcasing of traditional skills in the heritage and woodworking categories, it’s clear that both innovation and craftsmanship are helping businesses and talented individuals to thrive.

“The BWF Awards are a fantastic opportunity to recognise these achievements, share success stories, and celebrate the people and businesses that make our profession. I’m looking forward to another memorable evening that showcases the very best of woodworking and joinery.”

The winners will be announced at the annual BWF Awards, taking place at the Kimpton Fitzroy London on 21 November.

BWF Health & Safety Award – sponsored by Professional Woodworking Today

• Heron Joinery – for its Reduced Manual Handling through One-Piece Flow Turntable lines project.
• Heron Manufacture – for Aidan McClenaghan and his transformative changes to the Heron groups health and safety culture.
• Archwood Limited – for Shawn Griffiths for his continued enhancement and commitment to creating a safer, healthier workplace.

BWF Apprentice of the Year Award – Sponsored by CITB

• Marc White of Heron Joinery – his employer said “Marc is not only excelling in his training – he is improving the workplace around him. For someone so early in their career, this initiative is remarkable.”
