Letiz Tooling UK Raises £1,400 for Roots To Wellbeing Charity

Leitz Tooling UK has announced the successful completion of its fundraising initiative, “Operation Bucket & Spade”, which raised £1,400 to support local charity, Roots To Wellbeing.

This vital funding will enable impoverished and disabled children in the Harlow community to experience the joy of a seaside trip, fostering unforgettable memories and valuable learning experiences.

Leitz Tooling UK’s support for Roots To Wellbeing stems from its global WeCare sustainability initiative, which is said to demonstrate a deep commitment to giving back to the local community where it is also based. Various Leitz UK staff already volunteered with the charity, so partnering with the charity for WeCare was a “no brainer”.

Roots To Wellbeing is a dedicated charitable organisation run by skilled volunteers, trained therapists, and passionate supporters. Since 2018, it has been committed to fostering mental, emotional, physical, and cognitive health and wellbeing for all ages in the community.

The inspiration for “Operation Bucket & Spade” arose during a conversation between Ben Mitchell, Marketing Manager at Leitz UK, and the charity’s directors.

Ben said: “Upon the completion of WeCare, I visited the charity to provide donations, and it became clear they had many more projects in the works. We spoke about ‘Operation Bucket & Spade,’ and we were immediately keen to help fund this incredible initiative.”

This new initiative builds on past successes. In 2022, the charity facilitated trips for 43 families (over 160 people) on two coaches, and in 2023, it funded a further trip for 22 families and 78 people plus volunteers. These trips have reportedly left a lasting impact, with families and children cherishing memories of seeing the sea, many for the first time.

“These aren’t just trips; they’re chances for children to connect with new experiences and each other, take notice of the world around them, keep learning in exciting, hands-on ways, be active and explore, and give back by sharing in a communal experience,” explained a representative from Roots To Wellbeing.

Thanks to the generosity of 35 donors, Leitz Tooling UK successfully raised the full £1,400 required to fund “Operation Bucket & Spade,” ensuring this heartwarming initiative can continue to bring smiles and new horizons to children in need.

Tara Whittle, Roots To Wellbeing Director, commented on Leitz UK’s commitment, saying: “We’re contacting all families, many can’t afford to go so the support from Leitz has been beyond invaluable and it offers hope to so many struggling people.”
