Golf Day raises over £5,000 for industry charity

The Furniture Makers’ National Golf Day has raised an impressive £5,200 in support of the industry charity during its event in Northamptonshire.

The event brought together teams from across sectors as well as individual players.

Following breakfast, golfers competed in an 18-hole Stableford competition at Northamptonshire County Golf Club, a top 100 UK course. A two-course lunch was served after the game, followed by a prize giving ceremony.

Designer Contracts led the scoreboard, taking first place in the team competition with a total of 94 points. Their player James Gibson won first place in the individual competition with a score of 42, while teammate Neil Lloyd came second with 39 points. Bensons for Beds, sponsor of the event, secured second place in the team competition.

The Furniture Makers’ Company extended sincere thanks to all sponsors, especially Bensons for Beds as the main event sponsor, along with Sealy and NEJ Stevenson Ltd, for their continued support and generosity. Participants also received goodie bags generously donated by Biesse Group UK.

Debbie Johnson, Master of The Furniture Makers’ Company, said: “The National Golf Day continues to be a fantastic fixture in our events calendar, bringing colleagues together for a great cause. We’re incredibly thankful to our sponsors, teams and individuals who took part and helped raise over £5,000 for our charity.”
