Joinery Network Kicks Off 2025 with successful TJN Live event

Joinery Network Kicks Off 2025 with successful TJN Live event

The Joinery Network kicked off 2025 with a record number of people attending its first TJN Live event of the year.

The theme of the day was good product finishing makes more profit. Sixty-four people attended the full day of live product demos, workshops and one-to-one expert advice at the UK HQ of paint manufacturer Teknos.

“Our live events have always been popular, but in the last 12 months we have seen a big increase in the number of manufacturers taking a look at the Lignum timber window and door system,” said Andy Ball, Director of The Joinery Network.

“There’s a realisation that if you want to sell windows and doors you need competitive pricing, consistent quality and certified products. Large joinery manufacturers have the time, expertise and money to do the R&D and testing themselves, but for most joinery companies it is prohibitively expensive.

“The Joinery Network’s Lignum proven system offers joiners of any size a complete range of timber windows and doors that are fully tested and certified to the latest Building Regulations.

“TJN Live offers joinery companies a fast-track look at making the system, plus the technical know how and expertise within the network and affiliates.

A successful day

“The first of the live demos, by TJN’s Owen Dare, and Ged Maloney from Leitz showed how the Leitz Diemaster tooling cuts the timber profile so that it requires no or very little sanding. Sanding can lift the grain which means it absorbs more paint leading o a common cycle of sanding and painting which uses more paint and takes more time.

“In the second demo of the day, Teknos previewed AQUATOP VIRTA, a revolutionary new paint system that allows a significantly lower application pressure, to reduce overspray wastage by as much as 40 percent.”

Alongside the live demos, speakers from the network and affiliates discussed the support available to TJN members. Plus, during the breaks the expert marketplace was open so delegates could speak individually with Joinerysoft, B J Waller, Leitz Tooling, Felder Group, Close Brothers, Latham Timber, JFJ Wood Flooring, Hi-Tec Spray and PassivGlas.

Andy added: “We know that people taking time away from their businesses has to be valuable, that’s why our live events are filled with huge amounts of advice and information. From the success of this event, we are expecting high levels of demand for the next TJN Live event at Leitz Tooling UK HQ in Harlow on Wednesday 11 June, so we recommend delegates book early.” Booking link https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/leitz-and-the-joinery-network-live-event-tickets-1254479545089?utm-campaign=social&utm-content=attendeeshare&utm-medium=discovery&utm-term=listing&utm-source=cp&aff=ebdsshcopyurl
