Modern Joinery chooses first-ever Charity of the Year

Modern Joinery first-ever Charity of the Year is Evelina London Children’s Charity.

Evelina London cares for more than 104,000 children and young people annually, delivering life-changing, innovative care. One family deeply touched by their work is Modern Joinery’s own Editor, George Lewis.

George’s son, Jude, was born with a duplex kidney, a condition requiring careful monitoring and, in some cases, surgery.

In November 2024, Jude underwent a successful operation under Evelina London’s expert team.

Reflecting on the experience, George said: “Hospitals can be tough places for anybody, but especially for parents.

“But Evelina London’s team was there every step of the way, offering updates, support, and exceptional care. To now be in a position to give back to this amazing charity feels incredible.”

To support Evelina London, Modern Joinery has committed to raising £10,000 through exciting fundraisers, the pinnacle of which being the St Thomas’ Abseil.

This highlight event will see a team of 20 industry professionals abseil down St Thomas’ Hospital, taking in stunning views of London’s iconic landmarks—all for a great cause.
