Two new apprentices for Scotts of Thrapston

Scotts of Thrapston introduces Josh and Elliot, two new Buildings Production Apprentices. It’s an exciting addition to the team and comes after the joinery business took on an apprentice who completed his qualification last year. This success showed Scotts that with the right help how worthwhile it is to invest time and training into apprentices.

The two new apprentices join the Scotts’ team of more than 100 people at its base in Thrapston, Northamptonshire. Many of the team have been recognised with awards for long and dedicated service. Scotts of Thrapston celebrated its centenary in 2020, and the successful family business has been overseen by four generations.

The Scotts of Thrapston apprenticeship scheme includes working with the team, as well as attending college one day a week. Josh and Elliot will work towards their Level 2 BTEC qualification in Carpentry and Joinery. Throughout their apprenticeship, James Willmott will be mentoring and supporting them, helping them grow and develop into skilled professionals in the carpentry industry.

Katie Whittleston, Head of HR for Scotts of Thrapston says: “We look forward to seeing Josh and Elliot thrive in their new roles and are confident they will bring fresh energy and passion to the team.”

Scotts of Thrapston has built its business on its passion for the beauty of wood and its product portfolio has expanded to include luxury garden summerhouses, timber garages and outbuildings, and equestrian stables.
