Window replacement project shortlisted for BWF Award

Blairs Windows and Doors has announced that its Tontine Hotel window replacement project has been shortlisted for the BWF Heritage Award.

The Tontine Hotel, a Category A-listed building in Greenock, Inverclyde, Scotland, required a meticulous approach to preserving its historical character while addressing modern performance needs.

Blairs was tasked with manufacturing a number of the hotel’s windows, which included complex curved bay windows demanding bespoke templates and expert craftsmanship.

Using sustainably sourced timber and traditional joinery techniques, Blairs successfully manufactured suitable timber windows in line with their original aesthetic while enhancing their
thermal performance.

The project showcased the company’s commitment to quality, expertise, and sustainability.

“We are pleased to have the Tontine Hotel project recognised for its excellence in the BWF Heritage Awards,” said Alex Gray, Managing Director at Blairs Windows & Doors.

“This project demonstrates our ability to deliver high-quality, sustainable solutions that preserve the character of historic buildings while improving their energy efficiency.”

The BWF Heritage Award recognises outstanding achievements in the conservation and restoration of historic buildings.

The winners will be announced at the BWF Awards ceremony at the 5 star Langham Hotel in London in November.
