111 years of service

Greenock based Blairs Windows and Doors is celebrating its 111-year business anniversary.

As part of the wider Saveheat Group, which includes Blairs Aluminium, Merlin Network, Saveheat Glass and Blairs Windows and Doors, it has said to have built an ‘enviable reputation’ for outstanding product quality and craftsmanship, along with providing exemplary levels of customer care. Still manufacturing timber windows and doors today, the business has relatively recently introduced PVC-U as a material, through their blossoming partnership with Profine UK and the Kömmerling brand, which also extends to the Merlin business.

It is the perfect partnership as Alex Gray, Managing Director of Saveheat Group points out. He said: “Given the reputation of our brands in the Scottish market, having the right business partners is fundamental for our success in the long-term, as is the continued investment across the Saveheat Group. Kömmerling has a global reputation for being technically led and that means we can offer our customers products that have market-leading U-values for example.

“While O70 is the core of our sales, we also have one eye on the future with the Kömmerling 76 and 88mm platforms, along with their VS and WarmCore hybrid solutions which we are looking at too. While 111 years in business is an impressive achievement, with huge gratitude to everyone that has been part of this incredible journey, our eyes are now firmly focussed on the future.”

Robert Thiroff, Managing Director of profine UK and Kömmerling added: “There are few companies in the industry that can boast over 100 years in the sector, though Kömmerling as a business goes back ever further to 1895. Blairs have stood the test of time across all window and door materials and as our Scottish business partner, we are hoping for many more years together through the promotion of a  complete range of window, door and building systems.”
