Machu PiGchu for Harry's Pals

PiGs’ Machu PiGchu Team Gets New Pals!

PiGs’ Machu PiGchu Team Gets New Pals!

PiGs AKA People in Glazing Society’s Machu PiGchu challenge, supporting Harry’s Pals as Charity of the Year for both 2025 and 2026, now has eight team members ready to take on the Inca Trail in October 2026.

This ambitious trek is our major challenge to help raise £100,000 in much-needed funds for Harry’s Pals to expand its vital support services across all NHS hospitals.

Joining PiGs ‘STY Master’ and trek organiser Sarah Ball, and Hayley Charlesworth, founder of Harry’s Pals, are Andy Ball (The Joinery Network), Kilimanjaro challenge veterans Andrew Charlesworth (Kommerling), Gareth Green (Stuga), and Gareth Jones (Solar Fabrications), along with newcomers Ed Williams (Stuga) and Julie Holmes (Mila).

A ‘tough challenge’ awaits

Sarah said: “This is a great start to the team, especially as the challenge is more than a year away. We have some strong people onboard who climbed Kilimanjaro last year, as well as some exciting new faces.

“The Inca Trail is a tough challenge. Unlike Kilimanjaro, the entire trek takes place at altitude, so a period of acclimatisation is needed before setting off. Acclimatisation and trekking days involve between 5 and 12 hours of walking.

“On Day 5, we will reach our highest point, 4,215 metres at Warmi Wañusqa (Dead Woman’s Pass), and the challenge concludes on Day 7 as we walk through the Sun Gate into Machu Picchu, one of the most iconic views in the world.

We have four training climbs planned for 2026 to help build team strength and camaraderie. But before that, many of us will be attending the PiGs Thames Cruise in London on 17 July.”

Keep your eyes peeled for more information about the individual team members, where you’ll learn why each of them is taking on the Machu PiGchu challenge for Harry’s Pals.
