TJN Adds Two Must-See Industry Debates to PWE 2026
The Joinery Network (TJN) is strengthening its presence at PWE 2026 with the addition of two expert-led seminar sessions, designed to address some of the most pressing challenges and opportunities facing the joinery, window and door manufacturing sectors.
Bringing together leading voices from across architecture, certification, manufacturing, machinery, tooling and industry bodies, the sessions will provide practical insights into regulatory change, modern manufacturing methods and the future role of technology within the sector.
The first seminar, “From Frames to Fabric: Why Whole Window Performance is the Route to Compliance,” takes place on Tuesday 23 June at 12pm. As the construction industry increasingly adopts a fabric-first approach, the discussion will explore how windows and doors have become critical components of overall building performance rather than standalone products.
The panel includes Chris Proctor, Architect at Proctor-Rihl Architects; Kevin Jones, Technical Director at the Glass & Glazing Federation; Richard Bate, Technical Director at the Buccaneer Solutions Ltd; and Andy Ball, Managing Director of The Joinery Network. The session will be moderated by Luke Piper, Business Development Director of BJ Waller Ltd.
Attendees will gain valuable insight into whole window performance, the implications of evolving Future Homes Standards and Approved Document Q requirements, and why systemised manufacturing is becoming increasingly important for compliance and consistency.
The second seminar, “From Workshop to System: How Joinery Manufacturers Are Scaling Without More Labour,” takes place on Thursday 25 June at 1pm.
Hosted by industry expert Robin Clevett, the session focuses on how manufacturers can respond to increasing regulatory demands, labour shortages and productivity pressures by adopting more systemised approaches to production. The discussion will feature real-world experiences from manufacturers alongside perspectives from machinery, tooling and systems specialists.
Panel members include Gavin Cooper, Managing Director of Markfield Woodworking Machinery; Steve Winscott, Managing Director of Nine-Zero Trading; Brian Maddox, National Sales Manager at Leitz Tooling UK; Erin Woodger of Wealden Joinery; and Andy Ball, Managing Director of The Joinery Network.
Topics will include reducing reliance on highly skilled labour, improving production consistency, identifying inefficiencies, and exploring how digital tools and artificial intelligence can support quoting, scheduling, quality control and repeatability.
Andy said: “These sessions have been designed to move beyond theory and focus on the practical realities facing businesses today. Whether it’s understanding how compliance requirements are evolving or exploring ways to improve manufacturing efficiency, visitors will hear directly from experts and businesses already navigating these challenges successfully.”
Both seminars form part of The Joinery Network’s commitment to supporting manufacturers with practical knowledge, collaboration and innovation as the industry continues to evolve.
