The Joinery Network supports customers with training, advice and licences for new system, Lignum

The first joinery manufacturers have started making fully compliant, timber windows and doors with The Joinery Network, the co-operative of timber experts set up to back UK joiners.


Eight leading companies formed The Joinery Network to improve quality and standards through providing test data for timber windows and door for joiners.


Less than a year after the initial launch, The Joinery Network is supporting 15 companies with training, advice and multiple licences to manufacture the new Lignum range of Document Q ready timber windows and doors.


Owen Dare of O T Dare Joinery Consultants, and one of the founder directors of The Joinery Network, says: “We’re really pleased to be providing licences for PAS 24:2016 certified products to such prestigious joinery manufacturers.
“So far, we’ve released vertical sliding box sash windows, top & side swing flush casement and storm-proof windows, along with in & out opening single & double doors, French doors and bifold doors. Each joinery company has chosen a selection of licences for the products of their choice and is currently undergoing thorough training on how to manufacture to meet compliancy.”


The Joinery Network has invested in testing for PAS 24:2016 and Approved Document Q for security, Part M for accessibility and BS 6375: 1 for weathertightness and thermal performance, to provide easy access for joiners to comply with Building Regulations.


“Since receiving their certificates, orders for Lignum are already coming in for our customers, demonstrating that there is a demand out there for fully tested, superior timber windows and doors,” Owen adds.
