St Thomas’ Charity Abseil 2025: Completed!

George Lewis, Editor of Modern Joinery News, discusses completing the St Thomas’ Charity Abseil, and how much the generosity of everyone has been.

On 20 September, I, alongside Modern Joinery Publisher, Sarah Ball, my wife Rachael and my brother Jack had the privilege of taking part in the St Thomas’ Charity Abseil, to raise money for Modern Joinery’s Charity of the Year, Evelina London Children’s Charity.

Standing at the top of the iconic St Thomas’ Hospital, with the London skyline stretching out before me, I’ll admit the nerves were there. But it ended up being an unforgettable experience.

I am absolutely delighted to share that, thanks to the incredible generosity of friends, family, colleagues, and our fantastic industry network, we raised a total of £1,735.

This achievement would not have been possible without the many donations and words of encouragement we received along the way, and I cannot thank everyone enough for their support.

The funds raised will go directly to Evelina London Children’s Charity, which provides vital support to children in hospital and their loved ones, making an enormous difference at some of the most challenging times in their lives. To know that our efforts will help bring comfort and hope to families is truly humbling.

On behalf of myself and the Modern Joinery News team, a huge thank you to everyone who contributed. Your kindness and encouragement gave us the confidence to step over the edge and complete the challenge.

I am so proud of what we have achieved together and grateful to have been able to play a small part in supporting such an important cause personally.

Now what’s next…

Our donation pages are still live should you wish to donate.
