Record Attendance for The Joinery Hour Experts Series with GGF

The Joinery Network’s hugely successful launch of its new Expert Series, kicked off on 20 June 2025 with a record-breaking turnout for The Joinery Hour, the network’s flagship virtual event open to everyone in the timber window and door industry, which featured an expert team from the Glass and Glazing Federation (GGF).

Hosted by Luke Piper of The Joinery Network (TJN), the Expert Series kicked off with GGF’s Ben Wallace, Managing Director, and Lauren Mawford, Head of Operations, and Kevin Jones, the newly appointed Head of Technical. The event delivered insights into the future of the timber windows and doors sector, underlining many of the issues facing timber window manufacturers and how they can be tackled by working together through the partnership between TJN and GGF.

Attendees from across the industry joined the live session, engaging with expert discussions around market trends, sustainability, and the growing momentum behind timber as a premium choice for both heritage restoration and new build projects.

A new beginning

“We were very happy with the turnout and the quality of the conversation,” said TJN’s Luke Piper, host of the event and interim chair of the new Timber Group. “This launch marks the beginning of a long-term partnership between TJN and the GGF, one that is focused on strengthening the timber window and door industry through collaboration and expert knowledge-sharing.”

The newly formed Timber Group is aimed at supporting businesses across the joinery and fenestration sectors. The next step in the collaboration will be the first formal technical meeting of the Timber Group. At this session, a chair will be appointed from within TJN’s membership, with Luke Piper acting as interim chair until the formal appointment is made.

With strong engagement and positive feedback from participants, TJN and GGF are looking forward to building on this momentum through future events and initiatives.

Luke adds: “We have two more expert sessions booked – 19 July with Jon Cole from Secured by Design and 15 August with expert accountant for the glazing industry Simon Jarman from Clever Bean Accounting. This series of events is designed to give everyone the industry access to the very best help and advice to support their businesses.”
