Midlands Woodworking Show 2026 draws in record crowds

The 2026 Midlands Woodworking Show at Newark Showground, Nottinghamshire, proved to be a major success, seeing an increase of 30% footfall from the 2025 show.

This year’s event marked a significant milestone as the show celebrated its 10th anniversary, reportedly attracting enthusiastic crowds of woodworking professionals, hobbyists and industry experts. Both visitors and exhibitors praised the event’s vibrant atmosphere, diverse range of exhibitors and engaging programme of demonstrations.

The show featured a wide variety of trade stands offering woodworking supplies, including tools and machinery, timber, paints and adhesives, among much more. Visitors also enjoyed a packed schedule of live demonstrations from some of the most respected names in the woodworking community.

Craftmanship on show

On the Classic Hand Tools stand, crowds gathered to watch Japanese woodworker Takurou Seino (@takuwoodcraft) demonstrate his highly refined craftsmanship. Using a range of planes and saws from Temple Tool Co., Taku captivated audiences with his precision techniques. Fellow demonstrators Tyler Mason (@tmwoodcrafts) and Sam Wilmott (@monkeyboysworkshop) also showcased the capabilities of these tools.

At the Wood Workers Workshop stand, Master Craftsman Peter Sefton delivered practical demonstrations, sharing expert advice and techniques to help woodworkers get the very best from their tools.

Alongside renowned brands and specialist suppliers, this year’s event also showcased more industrial solutions. Exhibitors included OHRA, presenting its racking systems, SawStop, with its safety-focused table saws, and Austrian machinery specialist Felder, which brought its Hammer range of workshop equipment.

Exhibitors praised both the strong attendance and the quality of engagement with visitors throughout the two-day event.

Kevin Walker, Lincolnshire Association of Woodturners, said: “Thank you for putting on an excellent woodworking show. Our club had a fantastic two days, interacting with the large crowds that attended.”

Craig Joubert, Marble Art Originals, added: “I was impressed with the enthusiasm and the high standard of demonstrations at the event.”

Woodturner Rick Dobney commented: “Thank you for the opportunity to contribute to what appeared to be a highly successful event, certainly judging by the crowds I had around my stand.”

Expanded event in 2027

Following the success of this year’s show, organisers have confirmed plans to expand the event in 2027, making use of additional space at the venue and introducing an even broader range of trade stands and demonstrations.

The dates for next year’s event have been confirmed as Friday 5 and Saturday 6 March.
