In September 2025, a team of made up of members from the joinery and glazing sectors, alongside friends and family, will be taking on the St Thomas’ Abseil, rappelling down 160ft, all for Evelina London Children’s Charity.

The team so far confirmed to take part includes Modern Joinery’s Editor George Lewis, and Publisher Sarah Ball, plus The Joinery Network’s Andy Ball and George’s wife and brother, Rachael and Jack Lewis.

There are still spaces available should someone want to join the team and raise much needed funds for Evelina London.

The idea to do the abseil came about In January 2025, when Modern Joinery made Evelina London its Charity of the Year.

It aims to raise £10,000 through exciting fundraisers, the pinnacle of which being the St Thomas’ Abseil.

George and Rachael’s son Jude was born with a duplex kidney, a condition requiring careful monitoring and, in some cases, surgery, which Jude had in November 2024, under Evelina London’s expert team.

Every pound the team raise will help Evelina London do incredible things for sick children, young people and their families.

The team’s JustGiving page is now live for those that wish to donate, which can be found at: Team Modern Joinery fundraising for Evelina London Children’s Charity is fundraising for Evelina London Children’s Charity
