CRASH’s Vipesh Mistry completes half marathon challenge
On Sunday 9 November, CRASH Charity’s Projects Manager, Vipesh Mistry, completed The One by the Canal Half Marathon to raise vital funds for the construction industry’s charity.

Vipesh first joined CRASH on secondment from AECOM, one of CRASH’s Corporate Patrons. CRASH said his dedication and impact have been so significant that his two year contract was extended until August 2026 – a decision the CRASH team is delighted about.
CRASH helps homelessness and hospice organisations with their construction projects — creating places that care for people when they’re at their most vulnerable. By uniting the construction industry, CRASH channels professional expertise, products and generosity to transform hostels, day centres and hospices across the UK.
For Vipesh, this run was deeply personal.
He said: “After being diagnosed with thyroid cancer in 2018, which had spread to my lymph nodes, I underwent several major surgeries and treatments. Although I’m still being monitored, my health has been improving since 2022.
“As part of my rehabilitation, I set myself a goal to run half marathons — and maybe one day a full marathon. Training this year has been challenging, but my main goal was not to get injured!
“I’m proud to raise funds for CRASH, which helps hospices that provide end-of-life care. These places have supported so many families, including my own.”
