CRASH Appeal: One Roof needs many windows

Construction industry charity, CRASH, is requesting the help of companies within the glazing sector to help with a homelessness project in Leicester.

In Leicester, where the need for safe and supportive housing for homeless individuals remains urgent, one local charity is stepping up to make a difference. One Roof Leicester, a lifeline for single adults experiencing homelessness, is embarking on an ambitious project to transform a vacant property into a beacon of hope.

Working in partnership with the Diocese of Leicester, the charity is creating a new move-on accommodation offering nine private, fully furnished flats.

This space will provide not only a secure and quiet home but also a hub for holistic support. Residents will have access to meeting rooms for one-to-one guidance, vocational training, education, life skills programs, and community activities – all designed to help them achieve independence, secure long-term housing, and reintegrate into society.

With planning complete and work underway, the project reflects both urgency and vision: in Leicester, every opportunity to rebuild lives counts.

As a proud supporter of One Roof Leicester, CRASH – the construction industry’s charity is now appealing to industry partners to help supply, discount or fund, secondary glazing for the property.

This essential addition will improve thermal comfort and reduce energy consumption, creating a warm and sustainable environment for residents.

For companies able to assist with the supply or installation of secondary glazing, your contribution will make a tangible difference to this vital project.

Please contact projectsmanager@crash.org.uk to learn more or offer your support. Together, we can help One Roof Leicester open multiple windows of opportunity.

UAP says firemongery “should be treated seriously”

Elliott Dawson, National Accounts Manager at UAP, explains why firemongery is more than a finishing touch. With scrutiny and regulations tightening, he argues that specification, installation and maintenance need to be treated as seriously as the doors themselves because firemongery is frontline safety.
