Biesse Open Day is a Cut Above!

The Joinery Network’s CNC Demo Day began with a warm welcome from hosts Biesse UK. Joinery experts from Biesse, Leitz and TJN greeted guests at the event.

The day was designed to showcase Biesse’s Rover CNC machine range and, Leitz tooling for TJN’s Lignum window and door system, plus insights from affiliates paint manufacturers Teknos, joinery software Joinerysoft and Erin Woodger. And it certainly delivered.

“Watching a CNC machine make a wooden window is always impressive,” said Andy Ball, TJN’s Sales and Marketing Director.

“Biesse has worked closely with Leitz Tooling UK and Lignum system designer Owen Dare to create a complete programme for manufacturing Lignum windows and doors. The really clever bit from Biesse is the CNC automation. The Rover CNC will produce every profile and section for any Lignum product in any size, without additional user programming. This means the CNC can deliver volumes for up to 100 windows a week, with minimum input from the operator.

“It opens up opportunities for joinery manufacturers to scale their manufacturing capacity and take advantage of the growing timber window and door market.

“TJN offers product, technical, manufacturing and business expertise for joinery companies. Our manufacturing days are popular with members because they get the latest information directly from our team and affiliates.

“Plus, a key part of our face-to-face meet ups is that we allow time for networking. In fact, so valuable, many members were still talking for more than an hour after the event had officially finished!”

The event included two morning sessions and one in the afternoon, giving guests plenty of time to ask the experts their questions.

Jon Mears, Regional Marketing Business Partner at Teknos added: “There are some very exciting developments happening in the joinery sector right now. Particularly in timber. Joinery Network events are the best way to keep up to date and connect with experts who can help your business. The speakers gave insights which will influence heavily in what we do moving forward. For anyone in the joinery industry, these events are an absolute must!’’

As hosts for the event, Liz Mayne, Marketing Manager for Biesse added: “We were delighted to welcome and host our industry partners and joinery businesses from across the UK to our Daventry showroom. Bringing the industry together in this way is invaluable — it allows us to share knowledge, strengthen connections, and work together to drive future success and growth for everyone in the supply chain. At Biesse, supporting the industry through partnership and innovation is at the heart of what we do.  We are already looking forward to the next event!
