Biesse boosts digitalisation capabilities with Orchestra acquisition

Biesse has announced the acquisition of Orchestra, an Italian software company specialising in the development of digital solutions for manufacturing processes.

Orchestra develops platforms and applications that enable the interconnection of industrial machinery, real-time production monitoring, and the optimisation of operational workflows across manufacturing environments.

The acquisition is said to mark a significant milestone in Biesse’s evolution as a global manufacturer of machinery, lines and components for processing a wide range of materials, while further strengthening the Group’s digital ecosystem.

The acquisition is said to fully aligned with Biesse’s strategic vision of supporting customers in optimising industrial processes, increasing machine value, and simplifying production operations.

Biesse says the high level of automation enables native connectivity with machines, including equipment from different manufacturers, allowing production data to be collected, centralised and transformed into actionable insights that enhance customer performance.

The new solutions make it possible to implement advanced Manufacturing Execution System (MES) capabilities that automatically optimise production based on incoming orders, improving machine utilisation while reducing operating time and costs.

The result is said to be a comprehensive digital ecosystem spanning machine connectivity and data acquisition through production management and control, integrating advanced scheduling and dynamic optimisation capabilities.

This reportedly creates a unified digital environment capable of coordinating machines, processes and resources, even across multi-brand production facilities.

Biesse sasy customers will benefit from higher manufacturing efficiency, reduced production bottlenecks, dynamic and adaptive planning based on real-time data, and end-to-end visibility and control across the entire production process.

By collecting, orchestrating and leveraging operational data, manufacturers will reportedly gain a strategic asset that enhances profitability, responsiveness and competitiveness.

Roberto Selci, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Biesse, commented: “This acquisition represents a concrete step in the execution of our 2026–2028 Business Plan and further strengthens the Group’s digital transformation journey.

“By integrating Orchestra’s expertise, we are expanding our ability to provide customers with increasingly advanced solutions for the digitalisation and optimisation of manufacturing processes.

“Our objective is to simplify factory management while enabling customers to improve efficiency and competitiveness through digital transformation.”
