Leitz Tooling wins Precision Tools Specialist of the Year award

In its 150th anniversary, Leitz Tooling UK been awarded Precision Tools Specialist of the Year by Corporate LiveWire for 2026, said to be thanks to its constant research, development and commitment to sustainable values and practises.

This award win marks the third year in a row that the company has claimed the top spot, which it says cements its reputation as an “industry titan” in the manufacturing and engineering sectors.

The Corporate LiveWire Global Awards recognise companies that demonstrate excellence, innovation, and a commitment to setting new standards within their respective industries. For Leitz, the hat trick victory is said to serve as a powerful validation of its long term vision.

Innovation Through Research and Development

A big focus for Leitz over the last few years has been growing costs for its customers. Leitz have been redesigning key products from across their tooling range, such as the WhisperCut PLUS milling cutterhead, to be more economical. These designs include an extended resharpening area for extended tool life and an increased number of sharpens.

For CNC machining, Leitz UK has developed new router cutters specifically for the UK market. Designed to combat lower material quality through its designs and special carbide grades, these cutters reportedly offer exceptional performance for mixed material machining, and is said to be deal for smaller businesses that require flexibility to compete.

A Future Focused Commitment to Sustainability

Beyond technical precision, Leitz’s victory was reportedly bolstered by its sustainability initiatives. As global carbide prices soar, many companies are taking advantage of the Leitz Tool Recycling programme.

Leitz collects and purchases used and damaged solid carbide tools back from customers and sends these to its own carbide factory where 95% of material is repurposed into new cutting materials after processing and refinement of the tungsten carbide.

Leitz also runs a global WeCare sustainability campaign that kicks off in April every year. This initiative saw 154 realised projects in 2025.

Since the campaign launch in 2021, it has seen over 17,000 trees planted, 14 tonnes of waste remove from the environment and 14,000 volunteered hours across 38 countries.
