Leitz Launches ProfilCut Q Diamond Edge Finishing

Leitz Tooling is offering a new edge finishing solution, with the launch of the ProfilCut Q Diamond Edge Finishing constant diameter tool system, that is said to be engineered for tool economy.

For edge finishing in furniture production, the use of diamond tools is indispensable but can also be very cost intensive. Resharpening tools reduces costs, but each sharpen causes time-consuming machine adjustments due to changes in tool diameter, resulting in unnecessary downtimes.

The ProfilCut Q Diamond Edge Finishing can be resharpened up to five times and is then immediately ready for use again – without any adjustment work on the machine. This can result  in up to 40% lower costs compared to disposable tool systems.

With up to six lives per knife, cost per tool life is reduced. The constant diameter eliminates adjustment time and therefore significantly improves the cost-effectiveness of the entire process. The reusable tool body also ensures maximum sustainability.

The new ProfilCut Q system features a reusable tool body and profile variants can be changed at short notice by Leitz Service thanks to the exchangeable knife system. Multi-profile knives for customer specific radii and chamfers are also available on this system.

If you are looking to reduce production costs or improve cycle times through innovative tooling solutions, contact Leitz tooling today. With over 8,000 tools for every application and material, it has the technical know-how to support your manufacturing.
