JB Kind Distribution Warehouse Opens in Barnsley

Following its acquisition in January 2025, JB Kind’s parent company Tiger Investment Group, has made significant investment in a new distribution warehouse in Barnsley, South Yorkshire.

The new facility doubles JB Kind’s previous storage capacity to 74,000ft², and is said to mark an exciting step forward in service and efficiency for customers.

Working alongside their sister company Distinction Doors, the UK’s leading composite door supplier, also owned by Tiger Investment Group – the new centre can hold up to 80,000 doors. Operating on an extended double shift basis and supported by an automated scanning and picking system, the site is designed to speed up picking, packing and dispatch – allowing customers to select a prompt delivery day when placing their orders.

The distribution centre also delivers strong environmental benefits. With 15,000 sq. ft of solar panels installed on the roof, the site generates around 130,000 kW of electricity annually – reducing CO₂ emissions by 26,000kg and cutting energy costs by 50%.

JB Kind’s Sales, Customer Service and Marketing teams have relocated to a new office in Ashby-de-la-Zouch, Leicestershire – close to their previous site.  Now fully integrated into a new operating system, they are focused on providing customers with a more responsive, efficient, and reliable service.

Simon Johnson, Commercial Director at JB Kind, said: “2025 has been a year of transformation for JB Kind. With the backing of Tiger Investment Group and the shared expertise of our sister company Distinction Doors, a new distribution centre and operating system in place – we are better equipped than ever to support our customers.

“We are committed to being the door supplier of choice, offering reliable stock, fair pricing and a service you can trust. The future looks bright, and our whole team is excited to build even stronger partnerships and to support our customers’ growth.”

UAP says firemongery “should be treated seriously”

Elliott Dawson, National Accounts Manager at UAP, explains why firemongery is more than a finishing touch.
