Rebranded New Furniture Makers Exhibition Launched

The Young Furniture Makers exhibition, organised by The Furniture Makers’ Company, has been renamed as the New Furniture Makers exhibition for 2025, marking a significant evolution in its mission to embrace a broader and more inclusive community of designers.

Championing New Talent

The exhibition is said to have a proud legacy of championing emerging talent. While it has traditionally focused on younger designers, the refreshed name reflects the diversity of today’s participants, from students and recent graduates to individuals embarking on second careers in furniture design.

The updated identity will take effect at the 2025 edition of the exhibition, which will be held on Wednesday 29 October at Furniture Makers’ Hall and the Dutch Church at Austin Friars, London.

The exhibition provides an invaluable platform for aspiring furniture designers to showcase their work to leading industry professionals, employers, and fellow creatives. Exhibitors benefit from enhanced visibility, constructive feedback, and the opportunity to build lasting connections within the sector.

A highlight of the event is the presentation of a series of awards recognising excellence in various disciplines. These include the Bespoke Award, Design Award, Textiles Award, and Apprentice Award, celebrating innovation, craftsmanship, and creative integration of materials across furniture making.

Jonny Westbrooke, CEO of The Furniture Makers’ Company, said: “We believe the name change to the New Furniture Makers exhibition more accurately reflects the ambition of the event – to serve not only as a launchpad for young people entering the industry, but also for those who have made a career change and are pursuing their passion for furniture design.”

The New Furniture Makers exhibition is made possible thanks to the generous support of sponsors and partners who share a commitment to nurturing talent and driving innovation across the furniture industry.
