£523.90 was donated to Air Ambulance NI from ticket sales at The Joinery Network’s (TJN) recent open day held at affiliate member Teknos, in memory of Chris Hamilton, the company’s former Commercial Director.

Jon Mears, Regional Marketing Business Partner at Teknos, explained: “This amazing charity was chosen in memory of our Commercial Director, Chris Hamilton, who passed away suddenly whilst on his farm in Strabane, County Tyrone.

The Air ambulance Northern Ireland which attended, was chosen by his family for all donations, and we continue to support them now.”

“Chris’ family, friends, and colleagues have continued to support Air Ambulance NI over the past two years, with thousands of pounds going to the charity.

“Chris’ daughter Georgia even made the BBC News NI with her fundraising plan to sell Sleepy, one of her father’s favourite lambs. But instead of the £150 she was expecting, the lamb raised £11,800. Each of the 27 people who ‘bought’ Sleepy donated it back into the auction at Donemana Livestock Mart, with every new owner choosing to return the lamb and raise even more money for Air Ambulance NI.

“We like to share this story because it shows the incredible commitment to continuing support for the charity. We are very pleased to have added this donation in memory of Chris.”

Andy Ball, Director at The Joinery Network, added: “The Joinery Network events are free to attend, but we ask for a £10 deposit to reserve a place, which is then donated to the charity of choice for the company hosting the event. The team at TJN has been very touched by the personal connection from the team at Teknos to Air Ambulance NI and their commitment to raising money in memory of Chris.”
