GQA Qualifications Launches Q-Card Scheme Brochure 2025
GQA Qualifications has launched its new ‘CSCS Q-Card Scheme Rules & Requirements 2025’ brochure at the recent Association of Employment and Learning Providers (AELP) National Conference.
The Building Safety Act 2022 is the most significant change to building and fire safety regulation in a generation and GQA says the competence of the workforce is at the heart of the Act which defines competency as having the appropriate skills, knowledge, experience and behaviours (SKEB). There is now a legal duty on individuals carrying out construction work to be competent in their roles.
GQA’s Q-Card is part of the CSCS Alliance, having sole responsibility for the Glazing/Fenestration and Glass related industries.
This arrangement covers new issue Temporary and Apprenticeship cards (Red), Full cards (Blue, Gold and Black) and all renewals for expiring and expired cards. It applies to GQA candidates and achievers and all other Awarding Organisations offering Glass and Glazing and Construction industry related qualifications.
GQA CSCS Q-Cards display the competency threshold for each occupation. In most cases this equates to a qualification (an NVQ/SVQ) and the appropriate level of health and safety test.
More information about the CSCS scheme and how to apply can be found here:

The new 16 page publication also includes the Scope of Recognition listing all the qualifications where a Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) card can be claimed direct from GQA. All our Approved Centres can take advantage of this One-Stop-Shop facility for qualifications and cards.
