GGF announces strategic partnership with The Joinery Network

As part of its ongoing drive to support all sectors within the fenestration industry, the Glass and Glazing Federation (GGF) has announced a strategic partnership with The Joinery Network (TJN).

The GGF and TJN have committed to working together to ensure TJN licence holders and GGF members have access to the latest regulatory and technical information and support. Ultimately, the goal is to support and promote best practice across the timber sector as a whole.

The GGF this year pledged to position itself as a central point for all players within the industry, and recently announced the acquisition of the ACDM Association of Composite Door Manufacturers.

“This partnership takes a different form to our ACDM agreement, but it has the same goals – that of combining our voices to create a more robust and influential voice for the timber sector,” said GGF Managing Director Ben Wallace.

“Timber continues to represent a significant portion of the industry as a whole, and is subject to the same challenges, regulations and opportunities, as well as having its own distinct needs. We are looking forward to working closely with the team at TJN to both share knowledge and training. The GGF’s aim is to bring together as many timber-focused members as possible, regardless of affiliation.”

As part of the agreement, the GGF are launching a new Timber Group for both members of TJN and existing members of the GGF. This group will be run by the GGF Technical Team and have two meetings a year to discuss the very latest updates affecting the sector. The inaugural Timber Group meeting will take place next month in June.

Ben continued: “We identified that the GGF was underrepresented on the timber side, with historically limited engagement from members in that area. To address this, we’ve collaborated with the Joinery Network to help launch the GGF Timber Group. We’re really looking forward to seeing an increased level of engagement from the GGF community in the new group and seeing a collaboration with TJN licence holders.”

Andy Ball, Founder Director at The Joinery Network said: “This is a huge step forward for timber windows and doors, and more specifically licence holders of The Joinery Network. There is a surge in interest for timber and this strategic partnership with GGF offers our members a voice to Government. It will also strengthen the specialist technical knowledge of timber available to the glazing industry.”

The partnership means TJN licence holders will be able to apply for GGF membership should they wish and will then be able to access the GGF’s comprehensive range of services, including technical support, training, advocacy and industry representation. TJN will ensure that manufacturers and distributors of timber products will have their voices heard.
