Lilli-Mae Broadhurst named BWF Apprentice of the Year 2024

Lilli-Mae Broadhurst, Gowercroft Joinery’s Sales Administration Apprentice, has won the BWF Apprentice of the Year 2024 award.

This recognition celebrates her achievements during her time at Gowercroft Joinery, where she has grown from a novice apprentice to Partnership Manager.

From Apprentice to Leader: Lilli-Mae’s Journey
In just 18 months, Lilli-Mae has made a significant transformation. She began her journey in February 2023 as a Sales Administration Apprentice, handling tasks like logging enquiries, sending out brochures, and supporting the sales team.

When her manager went on maternity leave, Lilli-Mae took on new responsibilities and reportedly excelled. Her performance led to her promotion to Partnership Manager, where she now oversees Gowercroft’s national network of 13 dealership partners.

In her current role, Lilli-Mae is said to have consistently exceeded expectations. Some of her key achievements include:

Supporting Dealership Partners: She coordinates communications, handles sales and marketing queries, and ensures partners are updated on new product developments and delivery schedules.

Training and Onboarding: Lilli-Mae trains new dealership partners, teaching them to use Gowercroft’s quoting and ordering systems. She also provides in-depth knowledge of Gowercroft’s product ranges.

Event Organisation: She successfully organised Gowercroft’s participation in events like The Listed Property Show. This included booking stands, liaising with partners, and preparing materials for a professional presentation.

Dealer Development Plan: Under the guidance of our Managing Director, Lilli-Mae created a plan to assess dealership performance. Her initiative reportedly provided targeted support to partners and boosted sales, with one dealership exceeding its sales target by £272,731 in a single year.

Balancing Work and Sport
Lilli-Mae’s dedication doesn’t stop at work. As a semi-professional football player for the Doncaster Belles, she manages a demanding schedule of training and matches alongside her professional and academic commitments. Her ability to excel in both areas demonstrates exceptional time management and a strong work ethic.

Joe Grimley, Gowercroft Joinery’s Sales Director, said: “Her promotion is down to hard work, determination, and initiative. Her confidence and competence have grown impressively—she now speaks to customers with the authority of a seasoned salesperson.”

Jeff Guest, Sales Manager, added: “Lilli never gives up. She finds solutions, builds strong relationships, and has earned the respect of seasoned businesspeople.”

And Dealership Partner, Oxford Window Company, concluded: “Lilli-Mae ticks all the boxes. Her attention to detail, responsiveness, and product knowledge make her a pleasure to work with.”
