Kelly’s Heroes Climb Kilimanjaro team reach £35,000 raised

The Kelly’s Heroes Climb Kilimanjaro team, which includes the Joinery Network Founder Partner Andy Ball, has reached over £35,000 raised, with still more than seven weeks to go.

The Kilimanjaro challenge is the main activity for fundraising for the People in Glazing Society aka PiGs this year, and the team are deep into their training as well as fundraising at every available opportunity.

10 of the team have recently completed the Yorkshire Three Peaks challenge together, with another member of the team, Andrew Charlesworth, completing the challenge the week before to raise money for the second of his two charities, Harry’s Pals.

Gareth Jones, Managing Director of Solar Fabrications and Chair of FENSA, is still the ‘top fundraiser’, amassing at the time of writing a huge £6,800 on his own. But the other members of the team are also doing brilliantly in their fundraising efforts in order to raise £50,000 for the mental health and suicide prevention charity.

Sarah Ball, challenge organiser, said: “The generosity thar’s been shown to every member of the team has been fantastic. The glazing industry has backed us considerably and we are already at £35,000. Plus there’s another £4,000 from Andrew from his current £8,000 fundraising total as he will split his total between the two charities.

“We still have seven weeks to go and we are on track to get to the £50,000 we set as our goal to support Kelly’s Heroes, the PiGs charity of the year.

“A big thank you to all those that have donated to us so far.”
